Lowe's Home Improvement

I was with my son as he shopped for home improvements supplies. He's improving the home that he & his fiancee share. My son asked an employee a question about what he needed to go on a part that he had in his hand from home. This employee was brilliant he told him exactly what part he needed and handed it to him. Wow 😲 was that a time saver. The girl employee near the register is always friendly and very helpful. All of the employees love their jobs. As I'm walking and pass employees they have a bright 🌞 smile and always say hello.

I bought a mower at the JC Lowe's and I couldn't be happier with the service. Kaleb worked with me and I couldn't be happier. He was personable, friendly and very professional. This is the type of service we all hope for and I hope everyone that shops there gets a professional like Kaleb or Kaleb himself. Can't elaborate on the purchase as I won't get it for a week but if the mower is as good as the service, I will have it made 😁

This is a business that quite simply, ignores its telephones. If you actually manage to get a customer service representative to answer your call, it was purely an accident. Probably a new employee. Store procedure when an employee accidentally answers the phone, is to quickly transfer you to a line where accidents don't happen.

Visiting Lowe’s felt less like a shopping trip and more like an observational study on employee burnout. From the moment I walked in, the general atmosphere was a mix of indifference and quiet resentment. Assistance was apparently a limited-time offer that had already expired. Anyone I did manage to speak with seemed either in a rush to get somewhere else or carrying the unmistakable energy of someone who deeply regrets their life choices. The highlight was self-checkout, which somehow still required staff who were nowhere to be found. Despite doing the job myself, I still managed to leave without a receipt due to lack of support or explanation. At that point, it felt easier to accept potential loss than attempt to track someone down. Overall, the experience was consistent: minimal interaction, minimal assistance, and minimal reason to return. If the goal is to create a fully self-service environment where customers also absorb all responsibility, you’re very close to achieving it.

Today I’m reminded why I choose Orange over Blue. Right now on 12/11/25 in the Johnson City Lowe’s they have a selection of Carhartt graphic hoodies with multiple signs advertising 40% off. The hoodies they have are not indeed 40% off or so they say. The sign lists part numbers that are applied. None of which they have according to them. But nestled between those signs are over 100 hoodies that ring up full price. 3 associates assisted me and not a single one would honor the advertised scenario or would agree to remove the signage to keep further customers from falling in the trap I did. Abysmal customer service at its finest. The photo clearly show the hoodies, the two signs and the confusion that ensues. Thanks for nothing.
